Have you ever had a musical concept you overlooked because you didn’t know any decent drummers who could record it for you? That has happened to me! I frequently write songs in pop and R&B styles, using a lot of MIDI and sample instruments, but something is missing: real drums! “Well, because I don’t know any drummers in my neighborhood who can record this song,” I used to think. Stop being hopeless like I was and try this instead!
Online Session drummers have their instruments set up and a home recording studio where they can record drums for you in less than a week and sometimes as few days. Finding a musician for your song release is no longer as difficult as it was a few years ago, and anybody can do it as long as they have some money set aside!
The great thing about finding online session drummers is that many would play for you at a minimal cost. This is ideal for most music creators who do not want to spend a lot making and publishing new songs. You may hire session drummers that can work with practically any genre to bring your tunes to life.
Live Drums Vs. MIDI Drums
MIDI drums can work in modern music, although they don’t always. A musical idea may need live instruments, especially percussion. Many percussive instrumentals in popular songs nowadays demand the closeness and power of a live drum set. This is especially true for slower, emotional tunes ifvod.
Live Drums Vs. Drum Samples
Since most drum samples were originally recorded from real drums, using them might give your music a more genuine drum sound. The difficulty is that there is a limit to what can be done with a single sample. Although there are sample drum loops that are longer than 4 or 8 bars, they still won’t be able to give you the unique sound you were hoping for. If you use sample drum sounds from other songs, it will make your sound less original.
Professional Drummers Available
Drummers can be found on many websites, like Whack Studio, where session musicians promote their services to other artists, musicians, and bands searching for a great collaboration. The benefit of services like these is that you can hear many samples of their previous work and read detailed evaluations on how it is to work with them on your songs.
I do session work on Whack Studio as well, so I thought it would be a good idea to check out some of my other artists who specialize in instruments like Metal Drummers while I focus on singing and songwriting. I found some excellent skills in the drummer area over there!
